2010 Art in the Park event returns to Long Branch on Memorial Day weekend, those of us who create, collect and appreciate fine local art know just what to expect.Last year's 11th annual edition was the most successful ever, with more than 60 participating artists enjoying perfect weather, a record turnout and a positive buzz that's made Art in the Park one of the biggest outdoor art happenings in New Jersey.

The Long Branch Arts Council & Long Branch Historical Association invite artists from all over New Jersey to take part in our 12th annual event in West End Park, one block from the beach at the corner of Ocean & Brighton Ave. Wanted: Works on Paper, Works on Canvas, Sculpture, Mixed Media, and Photography - so whether you're a seasoned professional or a relative newcomer, this can be a great opportunity to get your work before the public, in a supportive and highly visible setting that offers a People's Choice Award and honors in each category.This is not an "art sale" of commercially produced items, but an art and fine crafts event in which the participants display - and sell - work which they have created themselves, with no commission taken by the event organizers. It's sponsored by the Long Branch Arts Council, in partnership with the Long Branch Historical, with support from the City of Long Branch.Interested artists will be asked to send photos or JPEGS of their work for consideration (those who participated in the 2009 show need not submit material for review).
