ArtsCap- Logo Contest- Artist Opportunity

CityArts/AsburyPark Logo Design Contest Specifications, Dates & Deadlines
ArtsCAP, the Arts Coalition of Asbury Park is on the look out for the artistically inclined. The non-profit group seeks logo design submissions for its upcoming CityArts/Asbury Park festival. The logo design contest is open to professionals, amateurs and students and the winner will receive a $100 cash prize.

CityArts/AsburyPark, a full weekend celebration of the arts in Asbury Park, NJ, is set for September 24-25, 2010. The festival will be a multi media, multi arts event featuring the work of local and national artists in all the disciplines. The city’s many non-profit arts groups, arts businesses, and individual artists are expected to participate, according to ArtsCAP president, Dennis Carroll.

CityArts/AsburyPark will be centered around an arts walk or tour from Main Street, though the downtown shopping district, south along Wesley Lake and east to the oceanfront boardwalk. It will feature art exhibitions; music, theater and dance performances; street art fair; film showings; spoken word and literary events and art installations. The festival will embrace a wide spectrum of artistic styles and media.


Logo Designs must include:
The words: CityArts (one word as written) and Asbury Park or AsburyPark. The words may be connected or separate but must be in this order: CityArts followed by Asbury Park. Asbury Park may be in a smaller size.


A graphic or graphic elements that depict or express multi media/multi arts and/or the City of Asbury Park. These may be pictographic, symbolic or abstract. The committee is looking for dynamic, inventive, and arresting expressions of the festival.


The logo should work at both larger and smaller scales (without loss of detail). It will be
used on signage, programs, and t-shirts and be displayed in a variety of media formats including print, digital and video.

Designs may be submitted in either PDF, TIFF. PSD, AI, or vector EPS, Document size about 11 inches. Winning design will need to be capable of being rendered in vector EPS with fonts as outlines and in both CMYK and RGB versions for both print and web.

All entries will become the property of ArtsCAP. ArtsCAP reserves the right to make any adaptations for reproduction purposes to the prize winning design or to substitute its own design in place of the prize winning design.


Dates and Deadlines:
All entries must be submitted to info@artscap.org and must be received by midnight, April 30, 2010. Designs must be attached to email messages, not embedded. Message line must read: “CITYARTS LOGO CONTEST”

All entries must identify the designer(s) by name, category (professional, amateur, student), mailing address, telephone number, and email address. Parental consent must accompany any submissions by individuals under the age of 18.

The winner will be notified by phone or e-mail on or before May 3, 2010. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize. Decision of the judges will be final.

An unveiling event will be held in Asbury Park on May 6 to announce the winner (location to be announced).
