Seeking assistant/choreographer for PRIVATE LIVES set in 1920’s Buenos Aires, directed by KJ Sanchez. Latin dance experience required. The position includes some tango choreography, dramaturgical work, taking notes for the director, and other duties dependant on the needs of the production. Stipend provided. MasterWorks II: Elemental Music, November 22, 2008 8:00 p.m. at The Strand Theater

Next Saturday Artistic Director & Conductor Anthony LaGruth will lead the Philharmonic in works by Handel, Barber, Copland, and Haydn. Barber's Capricorn Concerto and Copland's Quiet City will feature soloists from the Garden State Philharmonic. Handel's Water Music Suite and Haydn's Symphony No. 43 will feature the Philharmonic as a whole in these Baroque and Classical masterpieces.

Long Beach Island Foundation- Annual Small Works Exhibition

LBIF's Annual Small Works Exhibition is back!
On Display: November 29, 2008 through January 15, 2009

Reception: December 6th, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is proud to present it's Annual Small Works Exhibition. This exhibition is a great chance for both emerging and established artists to exhibit their work in a salon-style exhibition. All work entered will be exhibited and juried for prizes. Michael Cagno of the Noyes Museum of Art will jury the participants work and award prizes at the Artist Reception.

Block Print Instruction

An excellent class held every Tuesday, 1-3pm, at the Ocean County Artists' Guild [Ocean Ave and Chestnut Ave, Island Heights, NJ, 732-270-3111], is taught by artist Richard Kushinsky. His enthusiasm for the medium makes the class both fun and a very worthwhile learning experience. Only $5 fee to OCAG + a small fee for materials (generally $10-12 depending on what you use). Materials are provided.

New Jersey Emerging Artists Series
2009 - 2010 CALL FOR ENTRIES
We are planning now for the Third Annual Summer 2009 through Spring 2010 NJ Emerging Artists Series. Application forms will be available in January of 2009. Please check this website for updated information. The exhibitions are open to any artist, 18 or older, currently living in New Jersey, who has not been featured in a one-person exhibition in the State. A panel of jurors will select six artists. Work will be considered in all media, must be original creations by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation logoartist, and produced within the last five years. Sculpture must be wall-mounted. The New Jersey Emerging Artists Series at the Monmouth Museum is supported by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
